Neptune's Window: First Glance

After the mysterious and untimely death of her mother, high school sophomore Aries Dade is desperate for answers. Talking with spirits has always come naturally to Aries, but for some reason, she cannot make a connection with her mom. After Aries and her dad move to Newport Beach for a fresh start, strange things start happening. As soon as Aries sets foot in her new school spirits bombard her mind leading her to clues and people about her mother's death. Between the popular football star and the high school bad boy competing for her affection and the cool girls hating her, no one can be trusted and everyone is a suspect. Even the spirits contacting her may have ulterior motives! Will Aries finally find the answers she is desperately seeking or will she be sorry she ever set foot in Newport?

Neptune's Window: First Glance is the debut novel in a trilogy for L.L.Lewin and is a paranormal mystery romance with a sprinkling of astrology for fun. This book brings many familiar things together in such a unique way that it flows comfortably and still has this ominous aura that you crave from novels. I would recommend reading this book if you used to watch Laguna Beach or Pretty Little Liars. The book is YA but I think many generations will fall in love with Aries and the cast of questionable characters.

I read this book mostly at night and will admit I stayed up late several times for “just one more chapter”. The chapters are short which is convenient if you have time to just squeeze in a few pages of reading. I will warn you that this book ends in a cliffhanger with many questions left unanswered. I will be reviewing the following two in the trilogy and can not wait until the next installment!
