True Crime Chronicles Volume Two Review

If you are into true crime stories like I am you will enjoy True Crime Chronicles Volume Two: Serial Killers, Outlaws, and Justice: True Crime Stories from the 1800s Commentary by NY Times bestselling author and former detective Mike Rothmiller. This book is a compilation of some of the best crime reporting during the 1800s. In this edition, you get some famous stories from notorious outlaws such as Billy the Kid, John Wilkes Booth, Butch Cassidy, and the Sundance Kid, and Jack the Ripper as well as some lesser-known but notable criminals.

I enjoyed how each story is presented just like it was in the newspaper of the time. It's fun to travel back into another time and examine these stories with your modern takes and opinions about each case. At the beginning of each section that is dedicated to person or gang is a commentary summarizing the history known of each incident surrounding the article and is written by Mike Rothmiller. Not only are these stories fun to read but are an important part of history due to the individuals involved and the methods used to catch the criminals. I suggest reading this book on a dark and stormy night with a cup of coffee in your hand because you will be up all night turning the pages and playing detective with every single article.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
