The Yoga Habit Book Review

Have you ever attended a yoga class but didn't understand what they were taking about? What is downward dog? This was the case with me as I have recently taken up yoga to exercise in the light of the pandemic. I didn't know where to begin, having only a brief knowledge from partial yoga during workout routines in previous dance classes throughout the years. I also didn't know much about yoga equipment except the fact that you need a mat. I came across The Yoga Habit by Jane Browne and it is great for beginners because it helps with the basics and helps with instruction. This helped me improve my performance and knowledge to have a complete yoga experience and also have confidence when performing yoga.

I especially liked the section on yoga equipment and props. This was something my current yoga videos don't cover, and if they do they are usually sponsoring a particular product. This book helped me understand a variety of things such as mat thickness and the material used to make it and the primary function of each. This will be extremely helpful when I decided to purchase a yoga mat.

I do wish that this book had some pictures to go along with the pose instruction part of the book. The steps are easy to follow, but if you are using this book to perform poses I suggest looking up some images to refer to as well as the book, especially if you are a visual learner.

This book is a great beginner's manual and would be a good gift for any fitness enthusiast. The benefits of yoga are endless and the best thing is anyone can do it. I suggest getting this book especially if you are starting out and don't know where to begin. Get out your mat and book for a healthy peace is waiting for you!

I received an advance reader's copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
